BACKGROUND INFO

Sara Detoro Shah is a London based Film & TV Production Designer who also works on the music scene. Sara was born and raised in central London and when aged 18 Sara left London to study BA (Hons) Journalism at the University of Lincoln in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

During her undergraduate study she became the first style editor at the only university newspaper; The Linc. A newspaper that ran from the university for a widely spread readership in Lincoln and online. Creating and directing photo shoots was Sara's main role that she created for herself which saw her working on fashion, campaigns and commercial shoots as well as writing articles.

Whilst working at The Linc Sara became an award winning style editor which saw her win Best Supporting Individual and Headline of the Year from the Lincoln Media Awards. A year on after her awards The Linc was bringing out its first magazine; The Linc Magazine, which then Sara was promoted as the deputy editor in chief. Sara continued to do photo shoots as well working with fashion designers, entrepreneurs and various artists.

It was then with her promotion and her hands on design skills that got her a place to study a Masters in Design. This was usually rare at university to jump to a different course academically at a masters level without a BA degree in it. Sara specialised in television set design which she learnt to model make, set design and set decorate. After completing a year of MA Design Sara decided to move back to London. Since then Sara has been working as a freelance Production Designer.
